On 26th June 2016, ChinaEU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ChinaLabs in Beijing, defining a framework for future cooperation on several projects to boost the cooperation, integration and exchanges between the Chinese and the European Internet industrial and academic circles.

ChinaLabs is a top think tank in China focusing on cyberspace.

Based on solid experience, cutting-edge knowledge, an international horizon, high reputation specialists and a professional data base, ChinaLabs has been cooperating with top Internet and IT enterprises at both domestic and international levels, such as Alibaba, HP, Google, IBM, Intel, China Telecom, Lenovo, and has become one of the most influential think tanks on Internet and an incubator for startups.

According to the MoU, each party agrees to support the other in the promotion of major projects in Europe as well as in China.

The cooperation has an academic focus. The two parties agree to address initially the problem that both China and Europe lack of a clear understanding of each other’s digital market by offering annually a comprehensive report consisting of comparable statistics on Chinese and European markets. ChinaEU and ChinaLabs will also work together on co-editing reports and magazines related to Internet development.

The two parties will also cooperate on a long-term project focusing on the collection of voices and insights on the history of the Internet, as well as deepen the academic communication on the respective Internet markets and discover potential business cooperation opportunities by arranging presentations and seminars in Europe and China to promote the projects mentioned above.
